Con­sumer Pro­tec­tion Act, 1986 — Sec­tion 16(1B), 22-D read with Sec­tion 29-A and 2–1(jj) — pow­ers to decide appeals — Dis­trict Forum awarded a sum of Rs. 2877 as bal­ance fare with 12% inter­est from the date of fil­ing the com­plaint till actual pay­ment and dam­ages of Rs. 3000/- and lit­i­ga­tion cost of Rs. 1000/- for defi­ciency of ser­vice — appeal rejected — how­ever rate of inter­est reduced to 6%, lit­i­ga­tion charges enhanced to Rs. 2000/- and dam­ages not allowed.
