No more Backward Class quota writs: Andhara Pradesh High Court

Hyder­abad: Jus­tice C.V. Nagar­juna Reddy of the AP High Court on Wednes­day made it clear that the court will not hear any fur­ther peti­tions on BC reser­va­tions in local bod­ies as the noti­fi­ca­tion to con­duct polls to Pan­chayat Raj insti­tu­tions was already issued by the state elec­tion commission.

The judge was sus­pend­ing oper­a­tion of a noti­fi­ca­tion issued by the Waran­gal dis­trict col­lec­tor on June 25, 2013 by reserv­ing all the offices of Gram Pan­chay­ats the Man­gapeta man­dal in favour of Sched­uled Tribes (STs).
